Don't make these mistakes when training

Over the years of coaching I’ve seen many people making mistakes when they're training. These mistakes can hinder your progress or even cause injury. In this livestream, we're going to talk about 5 of the most common mistakes and how to avoid them to make sure you get the results you want.

Mistake #1: Skipping the Warm-Up

If you watched my last livestream, I talked about the difference between dynamic and static stretching. I want to try you out, what stretching did we learn is good for a warm up before the workout? DYNAMIC stretching! Yes

One of the most common mistakes people make when training is skipping the warm-up. A proper warm-up or dynamic stretching helps to increase blood flow to the muscles and joints, which can reduce the risk of injury and prepare your body for the workout ahead. Without a warm-up, you may find that your performance suffers, you feel stiff, you might also feel more tired and unmotivated plus you're more prone to muscle strains and other injuries.

Mistake #2: Not Using Proper Form

Another common mistake I see on a daily basis in the gym, is not using proper form when performing exercises. No one starts right away with the perfect form. We all learn as we go but proper form is essential for maximizing the benefits of the exercise, to build the right muscles in order to tone up and minimizing the risk of injury. When performing exercises, make sure to engage the correct muscles, engage your core in all your lifts, use a full range of motion, breathe through the exercise and maintain good posture.

Mistake #3: Overtraining

Overtraining is another mistake that many people make when they're training. While it's important to challenge your body and push yourself during workouts, it's equally important to give your body time to rest and recover. Overtraining can lead to fatigue, injury, and a decline in performance. So if you suppos to have a rest day, just go for a walk, sleep long, take a bath, actively relax in nature or watch movies. Nothing wrong with that.

Mistake #4: Not Staying Hydrated

Hydration is essential for performance during workouts. Does this ever happened to you that you feel fatigue, dizzy or you have cramps during a workout? This might be because you are not drinking enough water.

Make sure to drink plenty of water before, during, and after your workouts, especially if you're sweating heavily. If you do not like the taste of clear water, add some lemon, cucumber or berries in your bottle to bring some flavour into your water.

Mistake #5: Not Listening to Your Body

Finally, one of the biggest mistakes that people make when training is not listening to their body.

It's important that you pay attention to how your body is feeling during your workouts, and adjust your intensity and form accordingly.

Never push through a pain or discomfort because that can lead to injury, it's important to know when to step back, grab lighter weight or completely take a break.

In conclusion

Avoiding these common mistakes can help you get the most out of your workouts and reduce the risk of injury.

Remember to warm up properly, use proper form, avoid overtraining, stay hydrated, and listen to your body.
