Does your body fluctuates? Here is why!

If your goal is to lose weight,

somedays you are celebrating that you have lost 1kg/2 pounds

and then the next day the weight is up again.

PS. I am not even talking about the weight gain after the weekend 🙈 (you know what I am talking about).

It feels like you are not making a progress.

And then you are losing motivation if the weight fluctuates up and down. Does it sound familiar?

Here are my client's examples of their weight loss journey.

It is completely normal to see small changes DAILY in your weight.

That is why I do not rely on the scale, but instead I always compare my client's body measurements, how they feel, how the clothes fit, lifts, reps, and body pictures to see if we are making a progress.

📈WHY your weight is fluctuating?📉

🌟Water retention:

What you eat and drink along with your digestion all impact your body composition and therefore your weight.

🌟Sodium:

If you have eaten a lot of salty foods or carbs then your body retains more water. This is only a temporary fluctuation. Watch out for your take always or processed foods.

🌟Menstrual Cycle:

Your cycle reflects on your weight.

🌟Lack of Sleep:

When you are sleep deprived you will have more ghrelin which is a hormone that signals the brain that it is time to eat. By being sleep deprived your ghrelin increases therefore we feel more hungry. With lack of sleep this will also impact your energy levels, productivity and motivation in all parts of your life.

🌟Dehydration:

Water is key! Have a water bottle next to you at all times, set yourself an alarm to drink water and aim for at least 2 liters of water daily.

🌟Alcohol:

Alcohol will dehydrate you and this will cause water retention and temporary weight gain. Everything in moderation is key, after a heavy night out, get a good night's sleep, drink plenty of water and do not restrict or over train the next day.

🌟Stress:

When you’re stressed, your body processes food differently. Stress affects your vagus nerve, which affects how your body digests and absorb all the food you eat.
